‘A time like this’ — Gen Z

“You know in a time like this you should….”

How often have you heard that phrase uttered in a time like this? (see what I did there 😂😉)… Just to grab the 8.25 seconds attention span of some of you (yeah, I’m looking at you Gen Z) I will get straight to the point. As in most other times, these times remind you of the question Mordecai asked Esther way back then, “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”. You should have had two thoughts just now…

Firstly, “🤔I should definitely name my dog Mordecai one day”.

And Secondly, “Yasss Queen 👸🏽it’s your time to shine!”

And then, after thoughts of dogs and your wedding day distracted you, the thought should now enter your head “Ok what is this guy trying to say? Is he even trying to say anything? More than 8seconds have passed. How many split seconds is that?… No, get back to the point.”… Ok, I’ll make the point. In the next paragraph, I’m OCD like that.

In a specific time of crisis Esther had to make a choice to save God’s people. God would do it with or without her, but Mordecai dared to ask the question, what if you were in the place and circumstances you are in right now exactly for that purpose…. to save your people??

Now… Gen Z… “Who knows if perhaps you were made Gen Z for just such a time as this?” With the entire world forced into their homes, you are the most tech savvy ones. You are perhaps the ones God purposed to reach the unreached. Perhaps He purposed you for a time as this. A time to use your tech savvyness to set the example to the rest of your generation… On your story.. your status.. your snapchat… What will you do? I leave with you ONE challenge. Take it seriously if you dare:

Take 1min, pray and ask Jesus how He wants you to use your social media in this time… wait for an answer… then go and do that.

That’s all. Will you dare to try just that?
